2h SW tips?

Hi there,

I recently found a decent staff to use, but have been a wand user the entire time I've played. I've switched, but I'm just bumbling around on my own since I don't see many other staff wielding SWs to learn off of. Does anyone have any tips/ideas?

The switch came attached with 176 mana, so it's a very different experience from what I was used to before, so looking for some interesting skill combos to use as well.

SWs using 2h are generally even squishier than their book-wielding counterparts, largely due to sluggish attack speed. You will most likely have to keep a monitor's distance from opponents, launch an occasional fireball and run a whole lot. As soon as somebody who knows what they're doing sees you with a 2h, you should be dead in about 5 sec. Or 2 sec if it was a ranger 8)
On the other hand, 2h can do wonders against monsters but you will want a tank with you. It also increases efficiency of boss runs as you will do way more damage with the same amount of essence.

 

Oops, I forgot to mention I'm not pvping anymore since I stuck myself into lightning mode, so the pvp aspct isn't really a concern for me. Because of that, I actually rearranged my gems and used a few spare armor gems I never had room for and sacrificed my resistance values for it, plus using the warlord set, so I think I'm actually marginally better than when I use a book, leastwise against monsters.

Ah yes, ess saving. I switched because I had too many guildies asking for help with big paws after I finished the event, actually. xD

 

I use pve build (lightnings all the way) in arena, got me to marshal 8)
But yes, don't do that if you can use stun break and fireballs instead.

 

As for the chance of strike hitting directly in pvp, I pefer fireball considering my high dmg. As for 2H, ehhh, its slow, but yes more dmg.
