    Hello,
I crafted 4-5 leg shield with new version (using more than 500 gold) and I identified 3 leg shield I found in drops.
All of them have critical damage, critical hit, damage...
Where are shield with block and block rate?
All other toon can choose if they want "shield" with damage or shield with protection.
Why DK has only 1 type of shield?

    I'm the only unlucky here?

Please take this with a grain of salt. This is info that was told to me and have not verified but it was that each level of an item has a higher chance for certain values. For your high level I always saw pictures of shields being level 43 with 3 block rates and 1 damage reduction and 2 block rates and 2 block damage reduction. My suggestion is to make a level 43 shield and see.

I would have to take that with a grain of salt, yes. I personally ID'd only six to eight (lvl 45) shields and found the one I still use; which has 3xBR and 1xBA. So, if I were to give advice I would probably have to say "ID level 45 shields, based on my experience" but that experience is very limited, admittedly.

So, maybe your info is accurate, but I would like to see how many of each type (lvl 43 and lvl 45) shields were ID'd and recorded by the person(s) giving the advice- a database, in other words - before making up my mind whether the advice is reliable. If the information is just hearsay based on anecdotal evidence - like my advice would be if I based it on the six to eight shields I ID'd - then it's not reliable. Just my $0.02.

FYI: I think I know the reason that people make level 43 shields, actually. I don't think it's an increased chance of 3x/1x or 2x/2x. If you look at a shield that is lvl 43, versus one that is lvl 45 and see what their base stats upgrade to at level 50 you will see a difference. You could do this easily by buying a "white" lvl 43 and a "white" lvl 45 shield and pretending to upgrade each one with Glyphs of Power. The lvl 43's stats will be slightly higher when upgraded to lvl 50. I think that may be why you've seen so many base-lvl 43 shields. I personally never thought the slight difference in base stats from upgrading was worth the trouble of farming in areas I wouldn't normally farm, but some people do.

you only need to throw in 1 shield not lvl45 tot get a lvl43 (if all others crafts are lvl45) ;)

To the OP. I would go for the a good wolf shield. Maybe not perfect, but certainly better then many legendary shields

Up to now I have a "wolf shield" with 147% block rate... but has no blocks

I would have to spend time in an area I normally wouldn't in order to find that one lvl 43 shield (per legendary) for crafting. That time could be spent at HoD (making better glyphs/hour than in a lvl 43 area). Like I said, some people think it's worth it for a little better base stats. I'm not one of those people. I don't really like the boredom of farming, anyway, and farming in an area that's lower than maximum is just not for me. I'll take the level 45 stuff that I normally find where I am. It's a moot point now, anyway, since I have a very nice legendary shield. I'll wait until the level cap raise to (possibly) craft something better. Everything will probably change then, anyway ;)

Yes, level 43 shields (and weapons), when glyphed to 45 or 46, have about 3 to 4% better base stats than corresponding level 45 items. Really useful if you are going for modifiers that are percentage of base stat modifiers, such as block rate or reduce, or weapon damage or speed %. My current sword and my old shield were level 43s glyphed up to 46, and the base stats are better.

Also, COT cost (pre139) were marginally lower at level 43. I imagine crafting costs would be lower too.

Thanks for that info, very helpful. I may have misspoke before... does the base stats advantage stop at lvl 46, or does it continue all the way to lvl50?
(Just curious, and for the education of the rest of the audience. There's no way I'm spending time trying to replace my 3x/1x lvl 45-base shield now... especially with the level cap raise coming up sometime next year :D )

any level is fine ... takes just a run or 2 in temple or catacombs

So a run or two in temple or catacombs takes 0.00 minutes now? Time spent there is time not spent somewhere else... or playing a game I like better ;)

Running the outer loop of temple can still be profitable in terms of glyphs and gems, plus the possibility of keens for those of us without any pieces. Its also really easy and a good low stress farm route and the level 40 monsters (approx 35 to 45 altogether) on the path also drop full value anders and frags.

Oh, yeah, I can see that - good point for those still working on things. I've got 3xKeen's though. I don't think I've set foot in Temple in over a year. I can solo HoD (mini-bosses only) pretty quickly, and if I get a competent SW to go with me it's like a hot knife through butter :)

They are. I aim for 43 2H swords all the time and they cost about 90-93 gold to craft.
