What kind of group and stats are you having success with for Destructor with blues? I've intentionally ignored Destructor, but if he's doable with blues and dropping better gear, i might reconsider that.

Short answer: A very, very good group ;)

    Details:

Four SW's and Rgr's with 1000-1200+ base damage, good crit and crit damage and balanced other stats, etc - with me tanking. (As much as you can "tank" Destructor with his constant jumping. Mainly, I'm getting in front of him and laying down Dragon Fury for the slow-down effect so he can't catch the DPS players while "walking". When he jumps, I jump, and start it all over again.)

I personally don't have massive base damage at all (I'm a defense-crit-focused DK) - it's around 640-740 I think - but I have a good crit chance and above-average crit damage, I guess, so that helps me stay alive with heals from Mighty Wild Swing. Still, with blues, I have to be more careful and use a few more HP potions than with reds.

I would not attempt Destructor-blues with just any pick-up group I found wandering around Andrakash! You need a very good group.

Yeah blues are probably not the ideal for an speed and damage offensive oriented build like mine. I have about 790 base damage at 1h at 1.88 speed and 200% crit damage% critting at 34.5% chance (almost 1000 crit), but only 7400 hp and 3350 armor with the vargulf shield. Don't think i could tank destructor on blues, unless maybe i switch from a complete legendary ess build to my sargon powerful set...

I also only use blues on destructor/mortis. I save the reds for sticky situations. ...and yes, I good group is needed to have a smooth/low cost run.

Yeah, you might have trouble using blues. Reds or purples really help with healing. For comparison, my stats are 683-783 base (I was a little off in the first post - I don't really look at my stats very much anymore since they don't change), 1.58 speed, 242% crit damage, 54% crit chance, 8500 HP (no pet) and 4000-ish armor (not 100% sure the exact value). Also, about 68% block rate and 64% block amount, I think. Oh, h-3-1-1, here's the pic! Should have just done that in the first place :) (Resistance and Health are just a little bit higher than pictured, now, but not much. I've been slowly improving gems since the pic was taken)

Hehe, thanks! Not bad, I guess, for around $300 total invested (much of which was early-acquired-*talking beta here*-and-upgraded vendor armor that was later melted)... but mainly it's the 3+ years invested - sometimes 8 or more hours a day - I think, that helped ;)

EDIT - nice thread title, mod (lol):rolleyes::D

Well, I guess this is my 15 minutes of fame :)

The truth is, I'd like a little more base damage but it's tough getting enough rubies to make any kind of difference since I haven't bought andermant in a very long time.

Changing any item - except the amulet, claw or weapon - to get more base damage would weaken my character in some other way. (I haven't had any luck finding a better amulet, claw or weapon.) I've tried different sets, but I always go back to the 3xDark/3xKeen for good tanking stats.

I do use 2xRing-of-Death, sometimes, but my Ring-of-Life is pretty nice for tanking. (It has something like 29-30 HP/sec, at the level it's at, and about 90% of HP possible.) The only thing that would really help me now is Cloaked Wrath (upgraded to above level 45, at least), or a better legendary weapon, but so far no luck.

All in all, I'm pretty happy with what I've got - except I wish I could find Cloaked Wrath to see what kind of incredible critical hits I could get (I'm thinking around 6K-7K without an armor break).

I prefer to do Destructor 2H because it helps me keep the agro from the other damage dealers. I can use blues, but I end up running through pots on the runs where he gets the upgraded flame cloak first or second generator. There is a sweet spot that if you are just barely at the edge of your range and holding the shift key, you can hit him, but he won't activate the flame cloak (the upgraded one, he will always use the unupgraded one). The trouble is that once you have that sweet spot, you can't move or he will activate the flame cloak. The other problem is that if someone pulls agro, you will spend a while getting it back. Actually, for thrills, I tried doing him solo with blues. It took about 45 min (Including the lead up), but I was able to do it using that sweet spot I mentioned.

That's good info about the sweet spot, thanks.

Two-handed would be good for keeping agro, and I would do it except I'm too cheap to spend 100 ander every time I want to change, lol. Also, for the same reason, I haven't looked for a good 2-hand weapon. If some miracle happens and I get a "GoodMood-Type" 2-hander that drops from Khalys, or something, I may reconsider. (I still wouldn't like spending the gold to switch my rubies into it, though.)

With Harra in the group, I'm honestly not sure if I could keep agro even with a good 2-H weapon and the talent that goes with it! But I might try it, sometime, if an awesome 2-H sword falls in my lap someday :D
