Maybe should have an event quest that you must partake. Collect 1,000 beets and the quest is repeatable. Only issues are when you delete quest keeping the farmed beets...

Beets dropping after you complete the Event is my only gripe. It's been noted by others and Lingeringsnow even posted that it would be good if you could just turn it off as a user selection. I'd like to either turn it off as suggested or allow other players to use their heaps of pre-collected beets to pass through the snow-laser bridges unharmed. When helping others in the Event, the only thing that slows us up is dragging up the dead bodies off the bridges; bless their hearts. ;-) If the dead-beet could exchange 50 beets for a free resurrect, that saves me the hassle of fumbling for a revive stone.

    Question please:).
Completed this Event earlier today and then realized I have an unfinished quest. This particular quest gives you 350 honey cookies in return for 150 sugar beets and 300 red presents. I lack probably 1/2 a dozen beets for completion. My question is what happens to the 350 cookies if I go back to the NPC, or whoever, and hand over the beets and presents? Do they just vanish? If that happens I'll also be out the presents and beets. I assume if I hung onto the beets and presents I could use them when this comes around again but not real sure. Not a biggie but any help would be appreciated. tnx!

You mean what happens to the 150 beets? You go to the questgiver when you have 150 beets; he takes them and iirc, gives them back. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but I believe this particular questgiver gives them back.

If I'm correct, it's worth it to do this if you are trying to get the 350 cookies from the quest.

Sorry for the confusion. In a nut shell, I've completed the Event, my progress bar is full, 9000 honey cookies, now I notice I have a nearly completed quest with a reward of 350 honey cookies . If I go ahead and complete that quest, what happens to the prize of 350 honey cookies whose would-be home, the progress bar , is full. Would I lose the cookies along with the farmed items turned in to complete the quest? If the quest keeper refused to allow me to complete the quest after I'd finished the Event then my question is mute. Surly I'll be able to use the farmed items, beets and presents, when this Event comes back to town. tnx

Quest giver will probably disappear, I suspect the quest will also disappear but am not sure. Since you already have 9000 I am not sure it matters

Curiosity can be a horrible thing:)
I had to know! So I took the 150 sweet beets, the 300 red presents and set out for Kingshill in search of someone named Phestos in order to complete the quest. I found Mr Phestos, clicked on him, delivered the beets and presents, Mr Phestos told me to collect my 350 cookies. I never found the cookies but Mr Phestos had no problem finding the 300 red presents as they're gone now. Strangely, he did not take the 150 sweet beets. But I did learn a lesson, be very careful when in Kingshill:). Kidding, it was actually kinda of funny.

Yee, it goes like this; they take everything they can away from you, and for quest reward you get a nice little pic of cookies in the middle up of your screen and that's it since your progress is done :D btw, those sugars he wants only to see, not to take away

You have to know by now that the hard side of the event is solo only once again. Also now a ranger's wolves no longer heal him. This makes the event a whole lot harder. I am going to do a cache purge and see if the wolves work once again.

    --MERGED--

I found out that i was in skill set II which has no skills selected. I.E. no skill for wolves healing me. But hard is till bugged.

Did not notice the pic of cookies.
    ty for the explanation.
BTY thanks to help given to me earlier in this forum I got my epic reindeer mount. The first time I got on for a ride he...mooed! Jeez, Epic Mounts shouldn't moo. I'm now back on my horsey:).
    @archer1956
I ran the Event solo but being the wimp I am I ran it the easy way. Started the Event w/ 1600 (+/-) sugar beets so I had beets to burn:). Simply ran the map up to the first set of turrets over and over until my progress bar was full and I had collected all the draken the Event offered, which was primarily about the only thing I cared for.

Well, bothered to write only because it was to help you, I got lazy recently.
I like that adorable deer, sound doesn't bother me since I turned that thing off when those annoying hungry bears started running around :D

I only recently turned sound back on low after those stone golems stopped trying to blow out my speakers.

Maybe, there's a moose in the reindeer lineage...

Deer can actually sound suspiciously like other hoofed animals. I've heard whitetail deer make sounds that reminded me a lot of a cow mooing. But, if you don't like your deer sounding like a cow then I guess the horse is your best alternative for now :)

Ok so I had to go look it up. And it seems that they actually sound like pigs grunting.

The mooing might be better, even if not accurate!

Grunting is one sound they make, but it isn't the only one. Deer use a wide variety of calls, depending on what they are trying to convey. They have danger calls, contented calls, location calls, mating calls, etc. Some of them sound a lot like some of the noises that cows make. Cattle and deer are both ruminant / ungulate animals, after all, with some similar characteristics.

Well, it wasnt that bad. For endgame players, it may not have been much, but hey, that s why I finished in a few days. I'm happy with the draken and, well, the distraction from the daily routine :) I finished with 2 chars and got the 3rd up untill the solstice char. Could have finished it with way more toons, but i got bored with the map :D
