I don't see trading a problem for not-for-sale items. Good example are duplicate pets and costumes... I would rather give it to someone who can benefit from its use rather than to either destroy the item or have it taking up unnecessary space in my inventory/locker... if not to another player, at least to an alts within one's own account for crying out loud. Some gamers do have lives outside of DSO than an endless grind.

You are the first person I've seen make that suggestion. There could easily be a market for stuff like that so long as certain things are excluded. For example, the Phoenix should be locked to an account. The Crown of the Victorious should be locked to an account. Those sorts of things are things that are earned. I can agree to any variation of trade that excludes gear, gems, and account specific items (the sort I just mentioned).

And I am still of the opinion that a Draken based full trade system could be viable because there is no way to obtain Draken except through events. No option to spend ander or gold to get easy Draken... no free pile of Draken given to brand new accounts, no preference given to the P2Ps vs the F2Ps except that the P2Ps might have a slightly easier time finishing the events. It might even be good for BP's bottom line because people might be willing to spend more on the events themselves... who knows. This would result in a brand new economy where the players decide just how much their Draken are worth. That would be a cool trade system. It would also be nice to have another use for them other than waiting for Gnob to show up with the same worthless gear every 3-6 months.

Pets and costumes are more than accessories. They also signify awards, tokens of participation, levels of play, length in the game, uniqueness.
An open market trashes all of that.

Meh, they started trashing the value/uniqueness of some pets and costumes when they started offering them from Gnob. I had things like the Terror Horse, the Bouncing Pumpkin pet, and the Chameleon Skin for ages and they were rare and differentiating items... now, any noob with a couple of Draken to rub together has them. That is why I don't mind the idea of a market for those items. They have already lost their value to me.

Oh, I wholeheartedly agree that special items like Phoenix or Crown of the Victorious should be locked to the account. But when one has three of those lousy fairy wands, I don't see it being a problem passing any extras to a friend or two or at least to another alt within one's own account... unless there's a shrine to dump all useless not-for-sale items for buffs or some other reward system. Obsolete event items one has earned from a past event, let's say... I don't think anyone would have qualms turning those to something useful for once.

i like this option in a game where you can pay or grind. Why not think like this you can grind for hours and hours to collect ander to buy some stone to shoot faster or why not do just 1 or 2 hours overtime at work and buy it , that will save you all those hours of grinding.
Personally i dont grind i have done M2 about 500 times i dont see it as grinding i enjoy it, its exciting and full of action
Imho many players make it boring for themselves then it becomes a grind.

    --MERGED--

These items you mention very easy to obtain during event. much harder to get from GNob hours getting frags to get fairy wood to get fairy fire to get draken then you need ticket to Gnob or wait for him in Kingshill . I think Gnob is for players who didnt have time or luck during event so they can still get items. You say you want a market well what do you think Gnob is Its a market where you can dump your draken and get new items

1st - I like to hear your view on the jester gems, save hours of farming? Lol, nope! :) Doing m2 500 times is actually grinding, suggestion you to hit up the word. You just enjoy the grinding. :p

2nd - True, of course you can get lucky with draken drops from Karabossa etc, but Gnob is a joke besides the colors/powerfull witch hunters. New items?? You mean as in items which are an improvement!?! LOL, hopefully not, cause Dark items is basically a joke now and is not even worth spending Drakens on now. I get your point, but they left Gnob behind with useless items and almost never anything new.

"Personally I don't grind" LOL, nothing mean meant, but that made my day. :D

LOL, you were not around for the old style events, were you? When events were first introduced, they were very much P2C (Pay to Complete :p) The terror horse was released in the event about a month after the mount talent was introduced and I decided I was going to farm for that horse so that I did not have to buy a horse for gold when I got the talent. I farmed 8-12 hours a day for it (It was summer and I had a lot of free time), and only managed to get the horse with a couple of hours to spare. I was very proud of that horse for months (until they finally gave us the epic mounts) given that I was a F2P that had farmed it. Same story for the "Jumping Jack 'O Lantern." The Chameleon Skin was not as grind intensive, but as a F2P (with no free travel during the first Defeat the Undefeatables) it was still a lot of work.

These days, events are made to be completed and the players complain if it takes them more than 25%-40% of the event duration because they want to do it on more than one character. They forget that, once upon a time, completing an event without dropping tens of thousands in ander was a real accomplishment.

Contradicting much? How is doing M2 roughly 500 times NOT a grind? That is a full blown grind, doing a single map over and over and over again. If you tabulate the amount of hours wasted on those 500 times, you have way more time on your hands than the hours of sleep I spend in a week or even a month.

1-2 hours of overtime? That's estimated $35-70 CAD with my hourly wage? No thank you. I rather spend it on all you can eat sushi for two with tip included or a nice cosplay outfit before wasting it on this game.

oke i looked up grinding and it said the urban dictionary
    Grind
When an individual pushes his/herself to attain a goal.

Similar to gears grinding when they are worked beyond their capacity.
"I've been on the grind lately trying to pay these bills."

doing m2 500 times (and still going) no pushing myself not trying to attain any specific goal either just doing it for the fun of making groups meeting new players, chattiing and playing together and killing monsters in m2 i dont even do that quest kill 5 knights more because i have 200 tokens to mortis on hand.

    my thinking on jester.
Well all games have traps to seduce you and tempt you away from your objective well jester is like that if you are a F2P player but you never know your luck so when i have a spare 500 gold i visit the casino and have a bet. If you are a P2P player then the jester is for the big spenders. Do you know that there are players who spend 20 000 dollars a year on a game I have been on other BP games and been in the same guild and these players have even spent big money on my account to help me. So i think jesters have a place in the game. for all players. I have collected 5K red ess and 5K lila ess ,many stones,100-s of keys ,relife stones in exchange for some useless gold that just keeps increasing. ( i do hope to contain myself so i can get 5K gold stashed just incase something good becomes available that i like.)

I hope to go to Gnob and get the teardrop ring then the set is complete and if the witchers chasers pauldron doesnt drop
from karabossa then i will save all the draken i need to buy the other witches set. And i have been doing blackborg event every time 24 runs as long as i can think but still no shoulders.

And finally my reply to Baragain (above post) thx for your nice reply and explaining to me. i thought it was probably more difficult to get the items at first and now it became easier , well this is usually the case in most games i have played At first i was just teasing you with my first reply (because you deserved it). and to my surprise you answered very nicely for that i will now like you and forgive you for your post (post nr.24)

To all happy chinese new year and good luck and drops in the year of the sheep

Very well said Vix and Doc. Remember Money won't buy you anything. Skill/knowledge/teamwork are crucial part of DSO. I had the pleasure to work with wonderful people such as Vix and Doc in quest/boss, grimm, grovo, catacomb pw runs in the past. Remember many of them are proficient players.

    Really?
Last time I played the game it was the money not the skills ... that are giving advantage.
    Check these skills https://board-en.drakensang.com/thr...gan-figurine-in-official-announcements.61745/
Now get skilled player and see if he can win it without spending money.
Besides ... PVE and PVP are two different things.
The only thing that is out of balance in the arena is $$$$$$$

At least it wasn't a LVL 5 Twink. And Harra has plenty of skill to go with the money.
