Getting destroyed, how to get stronger?

Hi everyone,

I am new to this game. My character is now level 26 and I started struggling while doing PvE and in PvP, there are people that can 2-shot me (I am a DK with sword and shield and can survive PvE content well enough).

My question is, what am I missing? How do people get that strong? Did they buy something from the cash shop?

The way I am playing is I do all the quests and use the items that dropped, nothing else.

You're pvping at level 26. Most of your opponents have gap-farmed glyphs so they have glyphed up white shields. They probably also have purchased large amounts of offensive and defensive gems by buying anders, or have a level 45 counterpart that farms map2 for anders that gets put into the low level character.

My next question is, if I just want to solo PvE content and I want to make my life easier, should I buy a few big red gems from the shop and stack them into my weapon? Or is there a better way to achieve that?

 

Soloing pve is pretty easy up to about level 38 or so. Just keep killing monsters at your level and try to get some extraordonary and legendary gear. If you can, just select the extraordinary gear rewards for the dqs.

 

Thanks. What about after that? Must I group with other people or can I still "reasonably" solo it?

 

I have found that you can solo easy enough through level 40/41 but not the parallel worlds. Doing those solo takes forever compared to doing those in groups.

 

You can solo PWs when you sift through a bunch of legendary endgame gear and stuff it with shiny gems. That takes a lot of
either time or money, but it can be done as f2p.
