What amount of armor is given to resistances?

Like say 100 armor=20 resistance value to all, but the accurate values

In order for there to be a ratio there would have to be a direct relationship. There is no direct relationship between armor and resistance. Armor affects physical damage, resistance affects elemental and magical damage. They are different although they have similar purpose.

So no matter what I will be damaged 100% from monsters and mages? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of having armor?

The answer to your question is still in the answer I gave above. Armor reduces a physical damage attack(sword, bow, claw, beak, arrow). Resistance reduces damage from an elemental or magical attack(fire, ice, lightning, andermagic). Armor does not reduce elemental damage and resistance does not reduce physical damage and the two have no "Ratio" to one another. The amount of armor you have does not change your resistance or provide any reduction to elemental damage.

Either I don't know what you are asking, or you don't know what you are asking:D. You can have 1Billion armor value and when a SW hits you with a fireball, you will take 100% damage with no reduction. On the other hand, you can have 1Billion resist value and you will still take 100% damage from a Rangers arrow. There are other factors that can adjust how much damage you take, like character and mob level and PVP levels. But these are not Armor or Resist based. Armor reduces damage from physical attacks and Resists reduce damage of elemental and magical attacks, but the two types of attack reductions are not connected to each other. You have to know what kind of damage an attack will do, then you either need armor or resists to reduce it.

Not totally true, and at the risk of confusing the OP even more, if I remember correctly, Fire and Ice damage are both effected by armor. Basically, if a Fire attack did 1000 damage and you have 50% reduction from armor and 25% reduction from resistance, you take the 1000 damage and half of it is effected by the armor and the other half is effected by the resistance. 500*(1-0.5)+500*(1-0.25)=250+375=625. (as opposed to 500 if it was only armor or 750 if it was only resistance.)

On the other hand, lighting is only effected by resistance.

Mmmm I recall reading this from the old forum that Fireball is 50% Fire 50% Physical, i suppose so because a ball is physical xD.

    However in wikia

Shoot a fireball which, upon impact, causes 110% of your basic damage as fire damage

Shoot an iceball which causes 30% of your basic damage as ice damage

Fire a quick magic missile, which causes hit enemies 70% of your basic damage as physical damage

I suppose we need further tests to confirmed that :)

Any one up for testing at KS arena ?

@Guitarman, that's because that is the in-game skill description. What Baragain said is true, those spells are affected by resistance as well as armour. Not completely sure, though, if lightning skills are 100% resistance, I believe they are still affected by armour a little.

I have a stupid question... Does resistance work on both PVE and PVP. In other words I really only play against the computer and I assume my resistance values are working against monsters and boss'es.

Resistance is complicated. It works against some damage from other players. Physical damage is not prevented, but some spell weaver damage is partially physical and partially andermagic or lightening or fire, etc. Actual breakdowns are listed in other posts (try forum search).
So, resistance is important in PvP as well. How important depends on you opponents, their strengths, and how things work out.

Resistance is not PVE or PVP specific, it is attack type specific and works to counter damage from a specific kind of attack. i.e. Cold resistance reduces damage from ice and frost attacks, and that resistance is applied to an SW frost wind and Sigris' frost spell and any other form of Cold attacks.
