We all know that since Release N characters are not able to visit location that are of a level (char lvl)+6 and higher.

It is, however, possible to abuse that constraint by either buying travel rations during events, or having that specific location visited before the limitations were imposed. For instance, lvl15 character who has previously visited Arachna, will still be able to do that.

It was said ... this is intentionally made that way. Players who previously have opened some maps can travel through travel stones.

There is no abuse this is simply a new policy Bigpoint has taken to intise people to level their toon. There is no rules for engagement set ecp the use of the arrows to travel. The game still works as intended and travel rations might have been bought where under the old settings they where not. This might make Bigpoint slightly more profits later on.

I apologize, but I do not get how this could be accurate and intentional if BP is restricting 'newer' players to visit high level locations, but letting 'older' twinks do that if they've already been there. Additionally, I do not see how that 'intise-s' people to level up. Conversely, it allows them to farm any location without a need to level up.

but, anyway, I had no intention to argue (you might be right in what BP really thought by introducing this). I personally see this as unintentional and inconsistent, so treat as a bug and seek BP response on the matter.

That question should be addressed to the Devs and that Jason dude.
But I highly doubt they are reading the forums ... and I am even more suspicious about you getting the answer. :D

yeah, you might be right, most likely. I did that assuming mods are sending weekly reports taking into account issues discussed here. I plan to forward it to support if there is zero attention from mods.

  7. Bottom line up front: It is unlikely to change.

According to the conversation we had with our bosses on this topic, the reasoning behind it was so that lower level toons who had access to higher level urban areas where they had PvP quests active could continue those quests. I can understand that, but I had two issues and the developers didn't see things the same way as I did.

Issue One: (The exact one you have brought up here) Those PvP toons still had access to the higher level wildernesses and dungeons with the bosses like Arachna and could still farm those. This could be fixed by giving them access to the urban areas they had visited in the past, but block them from the travel stones in the wildernesses or dungeons. The developers didn't agree.

Issue Two: Newer toons can't begin the 5v5 or 1v1 quests until they level up significantly. I don't support "twinking," but shouldn't a new player have the same options as one that has been around for a long time? This could be fixed by giving all four PvP quests to the quest givers in Kingshill, and then blocking the upper level maps... again solving Issue One.

All this to say: I know that this isn't the answer you want to hear. I don't like it ether, but from the truth is that sometimes we don't get what we want.

No, it is a pretty good answer and it is what it is so thank you. I didn't think of PvP quests to be honest. Now when I do, I think that I am personally still doing 5v5 quest being a marshal, close to field marshal. I agree would be nice to get those in kingshill. I would still do something to limit the twinks farming.

Nonetheless, since it was discussed with Dev and there is a responce, guess you can close this one. There are more important topics on the matter of new player options vs the older player, but I'll cover that in a new thread or bump the existing ones.

    Thanks for response.
