After a run, we must teleport to town to sell stuff and combine gems. The ideas proposed helps speed up this process or eliminates the need altogether.

When working on gems, we store gems in items, then when we have enough, we take the gems out and combine. The process would be faster if the windows could be used simultaneously together.

To have a seperate page, or a an items like a box or a bag that you can buy where all the gems you pick up instantly go would be nice, saves you having to locate gems from different pages.

We have a simple repair toolbox such that people can repair their items in a dungeon, how about a item that generates a merchant, a genie or something. Or how about allowing users to sell their items to the global shop (T key).

The downsides to this is people might buy less inventory space, and if such ideas are implemented for vip users only, vip players might get frustrated with people having to teleport to town, but they often have to wait anyway since they have more space.

How many developers does it take to change a light bulb?

No one knows, it's never been done.

(I'm still waiting for them to fix the 2 ander drops in Lor'Tac.)

@Darwarren It takes one to know one, as in a developer would know how easy or hard it is to implement such changes. My coding experience is limited but creating a game seems mind boggling to me.

Really, how hard can it be to change a 2 into a 20?
Months, maybe years of development, several hotfixes, 30+ updates, and Release 155 still runs like amateur city. The game is a big project, but Bigpoint is a big company, designed to do gaming. Lack of quality and poor attention to detail explain why DSO is not even mentioned in gaming circles. That is also the opinion of computer professionals in my guild, who do not have your limited coding experience.

I started computing when punch cards were required. Fortran is ancient language now. If it didn't work, you didn't turn it in for partial credit. You definitely did not ship broken product. Let me guess, that was all long before you were born?

So, how many developers does it take, to screw in a light bulb?
It depends if you want it screwed up, or screwed down.

@Darwarren A computing professional would not disrespect a developer in the way that you do. They are anything but dumb, it makes no sense to say they are incapable of screwing in a light bulb.

The options were to ship out a broken product or have everyone wait a few more weeks. Hindsight is 20/20, i was eager to play the new patch and happy that they did release it early, although it seems now it was a mistake to do so.

I do not know the inside scoop as to what the problems were, and neither do you, EDIT

Apparently humor is not your strong suit. Light bulb jokes go all the way back to Edison, ever hear of him? LOL

How is it you know what I know? You didn't ask me anything, or listen carefully. Are you clairvoyant?
I have scores of contacts with support, hundreds with the forums, and international and foreign language sites as well, and a network of computer professionals at my disposal. Besides training and years of work experience in data communications, training in management, and ownership of my own businesses, I also have over 50 years of on-the-job experience.
DSO is one of my many hobbies, with over 6000 hrs logged online. I also own and manage our guild DSO website.

Other than your opinion, do you have any credentials?

@Darwarren A typical response, forget the message, turn it in a EDIT contest. Like i said, your joke did not make sense, and is disrespectful to the profession. Do the IT professionals that supposedly work with you know how two-faced you are? That you benefit from their expertise and then demean them behind their back?

You assume facts not in evidence, and enjoy projection fallacies and hasty generalizations. It must be tough, having yourself as an enemy.

I do not like how the developer gets blamed for the failings of the release. Without working on the development team, it is unfair to say they are incompetent. For all we know, they are working unpaid overtime late into the night, and there are many other reasons why there were bugs- Short staffed, not enough testers, poor project management, who knows.

Do onto others, we get told that the developers read these forum posts. If they are working as hard as i know other developers do, I do not think they would appreciate such comments.

Effort can always be seen and felt, currently i do see effort in how the game looks (sometimes they are screwing up here too, but i see effort) but i see no effort whatsoever in how the game feels. If they are trying, my apologies, guess they just have to try harder or rather "feel" harder

I respect your empathy here for the individuals we identify as Devs. Most use the term to represent all the members that make choices and implement them into the game, not necessarily the guy putting the code in. But the reality is the game is a product. And I don't want a microwave oven that works sometimes, or want to buy a painting that changes after I bring it home. All of the reasons you gave may be valid for bugs, but all those reasons are under the company's control and are obviously avoidable. When poor coding causes a bug, that is identified by a character on the test server doing free testing, but its not fixed because they haven't verified, so its released onto live servers, where it's reported by players, but it's not fixed because it needs to be studied, etc etc etc. There was a bug with the RA thicket that caused no drops for 8 months. That is not excusable in any way shape or form, from anyone. It was pure apathy. Many bugs that have a major impact on the game are left unattended for months. Is this the Dev's fault? Yes yes yes. The guy that messed up the coding in the first place should have enough pride in his work to fix it and give the manager the finger if he doesn't support him.

    Take this into consideration...

When the bug benefits the players ie: killing a boss easy, chests drop great items, etc. the dev team jumps on it with both feet and gets it fixed fast. Sometimes they even warn players not to take advantage of the bug.

When the bug hurts the players ie: rubberbanding, empty chests, invisible lasers, etc. the dev team takes weeks or months to look into it, consider it, review it, debate it, replicate it and then maybe at some point fix it.

@BigPapa It could be the devs fault. Or it could also be managements, it is possible that there is a queue of things for the developers to do, and the priority is out of their control. There could be red tape around ander drops, we don't know. You are right about 8 months being inexcusable though, especially if they had 8 months of people complaining about it, even I could not come up with an excuse for that. Im not sure I would be able to give my boss the middle finger though :p.

Ya the finger is metephorical for sure. We all fight distractions and complications to get the job done the way we know it needs to get done. I, in my heart, know those are good people trying to do a good job. It of course doesn't help when you see the thing you put your energy into being berated by people that don't know what you've been through.

I've mentioned in the past in other threads the heart of the problem. The process for them to review, test, and verify what we say is inadequate, and its complicated by false reports and general moaning. The simple truth is that when we say something is broken, they ignore it because they don't believe us. This is based on the history of people making reports or forum posts because they don't know how it works or think it should work differently. So, they stiff arm it until it becomes multiple reports and continued moaning in the forums. Once they believe us, they then try to figure out what is actually wrong, well, sometimes.

Lets take the laser bug in dragan map for example. During the first event the lasers were invisible for some peeps so a guy comes on the forums and asks what is going on. Hmmm, they seem to work for me. I'm not sure what he means, is it really invisible? Is it actually not coming up or is it there but not seeable? Does he have the settings weird? Is it only in grps? Is it all the time? Wait, they show up on my map, idk what he's complaining about. Don't worry about it. Hey look alot of people are saying its broke. There must really be something happening. But, it still shows up on my map, how do I fix what I can't replicate? Meh, the events almost over we'll look at it later. Segway Dragan 2. Good grief the lasers are still not visible. They are complaining again, oh crap we forgot to look at that. Sheesh, wth is wrong with you guys we told you last time they were broke and you broght the event back without fixing it. You are costing me ander and heartache, FIX IT, whaaa or I'll rage quit and go play GW2.

Is it fixed?... IDK. Will we have another Dragan event with inivis lasers, I'd take money on it.

You guys represent a very small minority of the player base I think. Just head over to the DSO Facebook page and read the comments for a more accurate depiction of who this game is trying to cater to.

I've come back after more than a year of layoff, and not much has changed in the development of this game in my opinion. The real developers most likely don't scour the forums (maybe the de one). Our views are passed on by the moderators and then you have to hope, pray, sacrifice a chicken in order to have a chance that they view them. And then there's listening and differing opinions about how this game should be played and the direction it wants to go from the people up top.

Devs aren't the ones who make the decisions about what to apply or what not to apply. They're usually fully aware of all bugs and issues with the game, and sometimes even read forums :D Speaking from personal experience, as a software engineer, there's usually a long chain of "decision makers" above any development team. Those people are more interested in how much it would cost and how much time it will take - so dev. team will get some limited time to fix the issues before continuing the work.

    Troneck86: Welcome back, Rex :)
