Don't deny me my schadenfreude at a certain persons trouble.

I'll point out that it was pretty obvious that the weapon was op and that a nerf was deserved. Given that nerf was obvious, some kind of compensation, but not a complete compensation, is within discretion a reasonable response.

Quite funny, I've been looking for 3 min and found 3 threads in which he spammed this alrdy lol :D.

Funny that even when new stats are unknown, he's already spamming the forum with these messages :/

And you think everything should be fair? Wake up, life isn't fair either. Stop living in your own dream-world.

    Agreeeeeeeedddd.

First DK's were too strong and able to kill players, so you nerfed them.
Then DK's were given the ability to survive but not kill anyone.
So now, you want to take away the ability to survive also.

Why not just do a one time switch (with current lvl, comparable gear, their gems and gops) and allow them to become SM's or Rangers and simply delete the DK class from the game? At least then it would save DSO from having to spend so much time nerfing the class over and over again.

It would also give the added benefit of players not being so frustrated for spending so much time building a character only to be punished for their hard work.

No logic here. Hasn't DSO ever nerfed or even enhanced the items when they felt it was necessary. Now if you think Frozen sphere skill is as powerful as Dk's gnob weapon, gather evidence and report to support, just like rest of player did to prove dk's gnob weapon being over powerful. Adding similes doesn't help you cause !

It's getting much more frustrating after every single patch!!! I am speaking mostly from the PvE perspective, but will make some compares with other classes to see what's wrong and why people, who play only ranged classes, think everything is ok and someone is crying or similar. I am playing 3 classes active. So here it is:

    P155
    1. Unbalanced relation attack-deffence - classes, who have high damage performance of skills got also weapon damage boost and balance is total lost.
    BIG WINNER - CM
    LOSER - DK

    2. Critical hit importance
BIG WINNER - SM (doesn't really need CHV for most used skills)

2.1. Llinear relation of critical hit value - loser - lower/middle values; winner higher values.
    BIG WINNER - CM, Ranger
    LOSER - DK

2.2 Offhand attack items (book, quiver, tool) hyped values; DK lacks such an item - shields are lacking crit, and additional crit lines like 350-400 a line (no other normal item lvl50 can have them)
    LOSER - DK

2.3 Addition of CH to one of the weapon types of DK - the slow type - if one chooses such an item, he changes 1400 crit for 25% speed - advantage?

    3. Item changes - the 2H sword was called a bugged item after 2 years having the base speed of 1,05 and was nerfed, that is quite useless now as a weapon type. IN ADDITION the old 1,05 speed weapons got additional bonus - you need over 200mln to up to lvl 55, 2 times more than the new items.

    4. Absurd passive rage generation cut - against the mechanics of the game and the character type

    5. Many of the main skills bugged and not working at all (not stunning, etc.)

    6. Removal of PVP skill "Determination"
LOSER - All classes, big loser - the one, which gets the most hits

    7. Powerful unique offensive offhand item in shop for all the classes except DK.

    8. Scorpion with silence ability - hard to beat by a DK, very easy with ranged class.

    9. Special monster with vampire ability and high dmg+HP or att speed+melee - quite impossible to be beaten by a DK with shield - you can see Greg's try in twitch.

    10. Low tactical power of the highest skill of the DK. The new skill of the class is clearly to be used in a defensive build, doesn't give much tactical freedom. Quite useless as DD.

    P156
    No spectacular changes.

    1. Less damage of the Lor'Tac monsters - good for DK.

    2. Balor becomes higher damage and longer lasting attacks, less lasting cool down of skills
BIG LOSER - the one who tanks

    3. Lifekeeper on the cost of 6000 drakens
WINNER - DK ... and all other classes, who benefit from the tanking

    P157
About 2 months after destroying the class there are changes.
Half of them logical and belated
During this time joking and humiliation also in the statements of the official in twitch session.

    Dragonknight balancing changes

    • Increased passive rage gain by 40% - This is logical, the game is unplayable without it and the lack of it was absurd!
    • Moved the Cleanse ability from the 2nd skill talent of “Rage Jump” to the 2nd skill talent of “Dragon Hide” - Same here.
    • Added a new 2nd skill talent for “Rage Jump”, that will allow you to significantly mitigate damage for a short period of time
    • Removed the rage cost from “Dragon Hide” completely
    • “Charge” now stuns enemies for 3.0 (PvP: 2.0) seconds per default using the “old” stun mechanic (all hit enemies are stunned) - After being bugged for 2 months is logical to make it function finally. In same patch Ranger gets 100% concentration instate of 100 points as a skill correction, logical again.
    • Changed the 2nd skill talent of “Charge”. It will now increase the skill damage of “Charge” from 100% to 175%
    • Increased the skill damage of “Rage Attack” from 75% to 100%
    • Increased the radius of the explosion of “Splitting Earth” skill talent from 2.0 to 2.5 meters
    When we add to this:
    1. Mortis wall bug - used by ranged classes only.
    2. Heredur pillar bug - ranged classes again.
    3. Steps over shooting bug - ranged classes.
    4. Many maps (specially new moon) where there are many places, where monsters are out of reach for melee attacks.

And the result of all this is making one more unique just a collectible.

MY QUESTION: Is it really only needed a thread of "whining" people, who lost against a better player in arena, to change the game experience of a whole class? To make an item useless?

If the DK class was too strong it may be you "distance nerds" should start farm more, right? that was told by one "wise" idiot to the dk players here dont remeber the name bcs its not necessary. You are pathethic dso, why you ruin your own game... somethin that was playable? In what way do you think that the hammer was not balanced to the game? it was not balanced its was CORRECT.
You say "its stats will be more in tune with the balance of the game overall" but there is no balance in this game anymore? 10% more rage regeneration for successful block? You wanna nerf hammer bcs some mage nerds didnt take down DK by 2 or 1 shot?
You started listening dumb random kids who are crying bcs they cant beat something beyond their reach, who donts invest in their chars and still wanna be top? and 99% of them are distance nerds.

DSO you really got so low to listen to them? You dont have your own team? If someone is a looser and dont know how to play he never win any battle with dk event the dk would not have any weapon and armor... remove hammers from the game and nerf this weapon didnt help them.
yOU can be proud of thmeseves "dsitance things" bcs by your crying you get what you wanted.

In that case all dk want to decrase dmg of that "distance something", bcs dk balance is not implement in any of the updates or upcoming updates. Return the all draken, gliph and ander for slot to all who bought that hammer.
Now im turning in evil mode and stop help any distance ..es i meet and start playing with DK players only.
may the bug be with you

  10. sebastian_fl

This is pretty good wrap-up, however, I would disagree on two things:.
    1. Lifekeeper should have never be in the game. An item that makes 90% of other classes skill completely useless makes no sense. I tell this a end game pro mage, and as a tank too. As a mage, or archer, you have to go offensive setup into duel with such a tank. If you end up with a balanced archer or mage in duel, you are dead. As a mage, I was very comfortable with all tanks on the server, including top payers. I was killing them even easier after r155. Not after Lifekeeper arrived though. In my opinion, those DK issues (valid) should have been addressed by tuning skills, not adding one item with weird behavior. DK needs fine tuning, but not the way it has been done. And their fix of Lifekeeper is obviously an absurd desicion. Hopefully to be adjusted.
    2. If we take pvp out of conversation, I feel much more comfortable playing my noob DK with polished only gems than my pro mage with 6k damage. My noob dk was handling post r157 knights with ease, while the mage had to work much harder. I was also able to solo mortis as a dk, something that my mage had to work crazy hard to achieve. I agree, however, there are certain mobs and maps overall where the ranged chars are big winners.

Hope they hear you, and work smart on balance. I quit PVP as both mage and DK for now.

    Guys, let's put it simply:

Bigpoint's game designers team came up with unique weapons for each class, as we can all understand, they didn't just come up with it over a pint of beer in the pub. Everything was weighed up, tested, thought through and justified. When all this ridiculous OP discussions took place and with an effort of only a few forum spammers BP took it seriously at looked at reworking something that made DKs at least be able to survive.
Firstly, in the current state of things for DK class this weapon was far from being OP and I wouldn't even want to have my char to be dependant on a weapon and not the actual skill to survive. I want DK class to have good regen skills without having to use a certain weapon. I would like to have a choice of weapons and rely on my skills to regen HP. I actually liked this post by Shirado except for some bad wording in it, but I understand that it was caused by frustration:

    Secondly:
A customer walks into a store and purchases an anticipated product that was marketed and promoted as such and such. Feeling worth his investment this customer spends his money (in this case hard-earned game currency) looking at a long term benefits from this product.
All of a sudden, the product gets changed and no longer have the features and the benefits of the same description for which it was purchased.
The company apologises for the inconvenience caused and offers the customer to keep his item (due to an unexpected hiccup) and partial compensation. Here's my point: all of those who started this OP non-sense should be happy because they pushed their point across so hard that the weapon is now nerfed and this should be the end of it, BUT, no, there are more screams even about the compensation. I mean, seriously? And this only goes to show you exactly what it is, - haters' attitude. This alone proves that it wasn't the weapon they were complaining about in the first place, it was just a general hatred for the whole class that their weak toons were getting smacked by in the arena. I am trying to keep my post very civil, but reading some parts of this thread really makes you wonder how this got bought by the game designers team.

In regards to the new version of Life Keeper. It has to have the same price as other classes weapons in this range and therefore keep it as 6k drakens for people who have not bought it. This way it would be their choice to decide for themselves whether it is worth (if BP claims it is still going to be a good weapon). For those who have already purchased the weapon, it is more than fair to compensate with 4.5k drakens for something that came as a result of their own "mistake' where players bought one thing that became something else after a short period of time.

I would like to ask the moderator, why the red color my post was edited? Which forum rule do i break?
Please undo the changes of the post, as the RED color is intended to show the negative changes in the analysis, the GREEN - the positive, WHITE text - neutral. I doubt you are a DK hater to edit only the RED color (joke).

Just for note; continuous red text is incredibly hard to read as the brain tries to pull that color off the screen. Understand your intent with color coding, but red violates general principles of digital information delivery when you surpass 1 word.

Hi haruki, hear my clever idea. The sets of the moon (full and new) should not overlap but should belong to the same set, can you create a set of moons combining pieces of Karabossa to those of the ancestral wolf (helmet, shoulder, armor, weapon, shield, arms, boots)? In this way the two events would produce a single complete set of the moon.

Probably because your terrible color choices made your post difficult to read. Also, there are quite a few men who are red-green colorblind.

"After release 159 you will be able to craft the following items to get better values.
For example: If you combine 4 helmets you will get 1 helmet with much higher values."

If I spend all the time and effort to get these items and craft them and upgrade them, are they going to be nerfed because someone feels that they are somehow OP?

I'm just getting a little gun shy about putting in too much time and effort.

  18. CM Haruki

CM Haruki Community Team Team Drakensang Online

    Hello there everyone,

ups - some days have slipped and the organic tree has grown and flourished. *Sheds a cautious tear*.
Without further ado, let's jump directly into the Question Abysm.

    Hello there you Sir,
-- it's true that the XP bug could have been handled in another way - the decision we took was not an easy one but the least bad for everyone involved in that respect (the time factor was an important one... and a lot of days had passed, rendering a dev script highly problematic). In that respect we are not restricting anything to anyone that suffered/benefited from this bug at the moment.
-- yes, we are getting some feedback about those voices. You can still choose to ignore those players or equip your character with a buff in patience. Anyway, they are not getting averaged level gear but the gear of their own levels so probably the issue has been reduced quite a chunk there.

    Hello there,
that Belt of Zeal lives up to its name, no question about that, at least within some sectors of our community. Maybe it's as good time as ever to remember that test server also lives to its name, it's for testing and therefore, not everything there is final. In this case, the belt came with crazy statistics and needs further tuning. It will appear in the game, yes, but not with those original values. No dates atm, sorry.

    Hey there Beatles35,
the glyph costs and the glyph situation is also in our radar - we are aware that millions of GOP slide into a complicated realm of farming and do not represent a normal progressive challenge. We do not have personally anything to add at this point although we are conveying your views and issues to the game design team. If there is any change to be applied to those quantities we will surely mention it across ALL media channels.

A sign of the Gods, no doubt.

Suggestions are very welcome in our Creative Corner, where our moderation team patrols it with a lovely pad, writing down the most wished ones. As for positive thoughts, we could all do with those, yes. At least once in a while.

    Hey there mister,

agreed on the interaction level - we certainly could do with more ways to encourage different communication channels. The arrival of guild halls and guild battles will certainly offer extra interactive elements and hopefully the designs do not stop there! As for the trading system, as we keep on saying, it's not really planned for Drakensang Online. ^^

I will never leave you alone in this room. Some days may pass without the CM presence but the shadows remain. The charade, the banhammer-ish approach. I know the need for intimacy is inherent to the majority of human beings... but not here. And now, give me that popcorn bucket.

    Hey there,

do not remain hopeless - I know I arrive rather late for this reply but I will give you an explanation (justifications have this kind of sticky halo, don't you agree?). Being completely honest with you here - the materi fragment issue was an episode of miscommunication within the team - one we have definitely learnt from. The final note of the reset of these fragments arrived über-late to Greg and me, meaning, after the change had taken place. We did not change immediately the patch-notes or released any official confirmation of what came next in the forums and social media since we needed to assess the impact of this miscommunication. Only when all the data was on the table we decided that the way to go was to proceed with two compensation bonus codes, which are still active as of today (COMPENSATIONPW1 and COMPENSATIONPW2).

I personally lament the time some players invested in farming those fragments - I know the compensation probably did not hit the number they previously had. On the other hand, the drop rate of such materi fragments is higher than before so you will be able to replenish your reserves quicker than before. Again, we are sorry for the inconveniences that this caused you and others in your situation.

In a previous job of mine I did have the private message option. That escalated quickly.
So I was naturally very satisfied when I saw the relevant "private-message-free" aura of these boards.

    Hello there mister,

of course there is some thought behind it - and we note down this for a further Dev Diaries or Twitch explanation. I would like to confirm that we are aware of some of the suggestions/feedback threads that you guys have initiated in these boards and we are reviewing them. Not to say that we will apply changes NOW and HERE and THERE; but yeah, we are reading you.

We also do not accept private messages on our Facebook profile. And that we consider a rather stellar cyber-communication station when compared to these forums. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    Hello there mister,

no, we are not compensating people who had it relatively "harder" to get it before - such a situation happens in a lot of games and belongs to the very own nature of an online videogame development. I can confirm that we will have new cloak quests coming in the future - so do not despair, there are interesting cloaks to look forward to!

Passing it through to the team. The sweaty reference to the seasoned warrior figure made me chuckle. ^^

    Hello there,

you are absolutely right - it will be added to the patch notes soon enough. But you can get a super sneak preview of the contents here. The complete list of pets is the following:
    • Cheeky Monkey
    • Fairy-summoning wand
    • Blue Dragonspawn
    • Pudgy Dragonspawn
    • White Chicken
    • Black Chicken
    • Brown Chicken
    • Jumpy Squire
    • Bomb Buddy
    • Tenacious Dragon Turtle
    • Bug-collecting Jabbax
    • Dragonspawn
    • Ember-Scaled Dragonspawn
    • Dr.Jullov

    Hello there,

the reworked New Moon and Full Moon are not taking the witch set away - they are implementing a new one but the other pieces will still drop. And yeah, we would like to release more official and data-driven information but do not expect any comprehensive list of drops and items any time soon. And now vent your rage with the following video!

Yes, they will be in all PvE areas and they won't disappear after one user has clicked on them.

As for your other feedback concerning materi fragments, I am not skipping it away, Armando. Please read a little bit above in order to get my personal official statement after the fiasco.

It does exist! On a hand-note, everyone is using nicknames here. Also, the main idea behind Haruki comes from one of my favorite writers, who happens to be a male Japanese writer, Murakami Haruki (although I am pretty sure you knew that already). I am not so familiar with Japanese meaning but to my understanding, Haruki was supposed to come from "haru", clear-up but also sun, and "ki", radiance, shine, and life. Which is quite fitting for a CM, actually. At least for the clear-up part.

Please, CHILL OUT and do not escalate quickly into rather ERRONEOUS assumptions. Our team of designers are ACTUALLY looking into THIS to clarify whether this is a graphical bug or another kind of error. I also intent to help THE COMMUNITY by actively engaging them through different mediums, listening to you, yes, you, and keeping all the feedback fronts OPEN. You know what I hate, by the way? The indiscriminate use of capital letters. ;)

    Hey there,

regarding those white drops - will seek one of our designers and bring you an official statement here. I personally do not have any problem with white little objects floating around during my runs, to be honest. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Of course, it would be better if they were at least greenie or blueish, but still...

Yes, this is a very minor issue... But I remember how painful was to watch those dwarven banners sticking out their twit-twats when you were wearing certain costumes. Cannot promise a fix or another behavior for this - but I will pass the feedback.

As we said, we are investigating this.

    Hey there,

thanks for your comprehensive answer which actually comes very close to the objective situations these days. That "hunting" feature, or auto-play feature is indeed an AFK system of farming loot, typically known for Asian markets and players. Yes, we have launched in Korea and we will launch in China. But it does not mean that all versions have to be exactly the same.

    Hey there,

yes, this is coming with release 159, which is currently scheduled for the second week of December (another CM opening a Pandora's box). We will surely release all the stats.

About the Life-Keeper: I will kill some posts with this one, hope you do not mind (and if you do, I apologize in advance!), I am perfectly aware that the reaction is of course negative (I mean, of course, it's a nerf!!!) but I would like to tell you that the GOPs and gems you have used already on your Life-Keeper will stay - they are not moving anywhere. Plus the "nerf" is not a decisive factor in making the Life-Keeper junk; it's just a fair tuning. We will post the official stats soon enough in the official announcement - please bar with us.

    ----------------------------------------

And this is pretty much it for today - some catching up to do seems imperative so I'll see you soon!

    Cheerios,
    Haruki

I have one serious question regarding this. WHO decides if an item needs "fair" tuning? The whining players, who once lost against a better player? Some forum/fb "majority" (if so, then more spamming and whining needed)? The game designers?

If option No.3, then someone has failed in their work - this item has been on TS, long time on LS.
In this connection what happens to the low level items with impossible critical hit stats for current items? Still no solution? Doesn't it take 100s or 1000s times longer to solve this error in compare to the ALMIGHTY lifekeeper - the biggest problem in the game. If it's such a big problem for PvP, then make it function in PvE only ... but may be not that is the case here. ;)
