It's time to replace keen and sword imo :) you could easily increase your dps with an average axe and dark gloves.

LOL, I do indeed farm a lot... I also don't need those pots to survive as MWS keeps me happy. I don't use the agro skill in my 2H set up because I generally can hold agro with MWS, DF, and Smash. It takes a really OP SM/SW/RA to pull and keep the agro from me. I may need to test using it in the Harder and Hardest difficulties if the enemies aren't dying fast enough and I have trouble keeping agro, but I'll cross that bridge when and if I get there.
I am looking to replace Keen's Gloves... With Keen's Gloves. :p I like the HP/Armor they give which helps keep me alive when I solo (which I do a lot more than grouping). And Axes are too slow for my tastes. I'd lose over 0.25 attack speed from the switch. For that matter, I'd lose about 0.12 speed from switching my old LVL 43 sword to a LVL 50 sword, so I'm not to thrilled about that loss in my future.

Long story short, Yes, I could increase my DPS rather easily with an axe, speed gloves, witch set etc, but at the expense of my ability to solo. Further more, it would involve spending a lot of ander on slots... Ander which I don't have and would take a couple of weeks to farm. I think I'll stay where I am for the time being.

For 2H PVE, should I give up some dmg/hp for speed (left side) or do I give up speed for dmg/hp (right side)?

I know that I'll need more armor (about 10% more) and hopefully some crit if I can manage to find it

Edit: This is just playing around with the wisdom tree. Here is another option. Give up a little more dmg to keep the higher speed and higher hp.

Just bought new dark gloves yesterday.. and this is my current stats before 159, using my fave balance axe and atk shield. I'm quite happy with this atm.. will add more hp when I have enough anders to open the 5th slots on gloves and boots. Hopefully I can survive at new pw's difficulty lvl on solo.:p

I'm also thinking to craft leg belt to replace Keens Power. Leg belt with armor + hp & more dmg or critical dmg would be nice, but idk crafting belt seems like a waste of gold. [IMG]

Found a nice torso... so tempting.
I'd gain 76 damage on the high end and 468 HP (knowledge), but at the cost of 790 armor (I wouldn't use the armor gem on a torso with so little armor). In the end, the slots were the deciding factor. I can't justify spending all that ander for an improvement that is just "good." If that had been 15% damage, +28-31 damage, and an armor line of ~400... then I'd have likely eaten the cost and made the switch, but not here.

    EDIT:
And here are some interesting pauldrons; in this case, 2x perfect damage lines... also not worth it keeping but undeniably interesting.

You are right. Not worth the ander. You will find much better very soon if you play extreme mode. I've got one with 19.2% dmg. Funny thing is that it is not always the best one to use, sometime plain damage is better, in case of 50% + blue ess.

True, but because I spend 95%+ of my time using no essence or green essence, this makes little difference to me. The other case where pure damage is better is when your total damage is low.

Got a new hammer from q1 boss, fatal mode few days ago, it came with 4 slots, which is practically a miracle

Any way, after adding a 5th slot and taking it into a test run, i felt quite happy with it, but im still not sure if i should melt my pink axe or not, not easy to let it go.. :(

I would really like to see what you guys think and what would you do in this case :)

    stats with each:

Since everything else between builds is equal, this is a time to check DPS.
Congrats, your axe is better. I would also say that it is less expensive to upgrade, but you already have it at 55. If you were really interested, you could check how high you could level up your new hammer with that 18.5M glyphs (or the 21M glyphs you'd have total if you melted the axe) and then re-run the calculations based on that change. Here is the site in case you are interested, but you will need to do the damage upgrade calculations yourself. http://dsopage.bplaced.net/

I'm sure glad i did not rush into melting it lol, Thanks a bunch for doing the maths! i did not even consider using that tool
ill do some more testing i guess :D
Yea it sure is not, and for me, i always liked to have at the very least 45% crit, so yea, ill try to add more crit to the hammer build, might work out :D
    Thanks :)

If we were talking probabilities, I'd likely go for the damage because it is more consistent than depending on a crit (i.e not depending heavily on two probability curves, rather heavily on one and only a little on the second). While it is true that it is just a calculator, this is a game that is dependent on the long run performance of a build. If you have a long fight that lasts a significant length of time (for example a fatal boss fight), that 200+ DPS difference accounts for 2.6% more DPS. In a 10 min fight, this is roughly equal to a 15 second reduction in the fight duration. Not game changing, but measurable. Add that up over 10, 15, 20, 50 fights and that is when you start to see the benefit of using a higher DPS build. Sure there are a ton of other factors, but the truth remains... DPS is the best metric for offensive combat strength (and to a lesser degree, DPH damage per hit).

Really have to wonder why they bothered making this unique when the stats are far less than an average legendary.

They just slapped certain lines (in this set's case, CHR, attack speed and damage) to the items... doubt they considered comparing to the average legendaries.

Got the new "Justice" (with a near max HP line) and it is actually worth hanging onto for the time being.
I doubt I'll use it for quite a while, but it makes for a cool looking HP build.

That HP would be another 2150 higher if I felt like moving my gems, but I don't have an overflowing virtual wallet. Add in a full group effect and a pet and that would go up to about 31,900. Put the 20% for Battle Frenzy and it would go up to 35,100. If I had/used Lifekeeper, I'd get back 280 each time I blocked a hit. I'd get back 720 per second using Battle Frenzy. If I selected Super Natural Regenration, I'd gain back about 1,158 per second that it was active. All that fun would almost make it worth taking for a spin in a Fatal boss fight. I'm sure that I could get it higher... just need one of the new RoLs and a good HP amulet. With that I might be able to hit 38k HP, LOL. I could also talk about investing glyphs in some of my HP gear... but you get the point. It is nuts.

P.S. Don't ask to see the damage... it is embarrassing:oops:.

    EDIT:
I forgot about % HP amulets... I have one with 9.84%... Factor that in, or an even better one if I could ever find it, and this gets a bit on the ridiculous side. That could make up for another couple thousand HP in the final build.

    EDIT 2:
I just got some rather nice HP items from Fatal Boss farming. With the same math as above, I could theoretically hit 38,287. A 40K HP DK is possible, just takes a bunch of luck and some good items.
