How does crafting work

I'm new to this game and I may not understand this crafting table thoroughly, but what I really need is to be able to craft 4 different type of items into one certain type that I need... For example, a way to make sure that I'll get one legendary belt out of four pink items including at least one belt. I don't even need perfect results with lots of gem slots and useful enchantments, as a newbie I only want to upgrade all my nearly useless armors lol

 

If you put in 4 belts, you'll get a belt.

If you put in 4 different items, (belt, gloves, helmet, shoulders as an example) you have a 25% chance of getting a belt.

Currently, gem slots and enchantments on the item you get is completely random.

 

Thank you for replying! But I found it extremely difficult to collect 4 pink belts..... The drop rate is incredibly low.....

Yes, they are low in the lower levels but as you climb higher you will notice an increase in the drop rates. Do not waste too much time trying to craft legendary items because there is a high chance those items have bad enchantments. Also, even if you get lucky and get good enchantments, they become useless as you level up because at one point, even a blue item will beat the stats of the low level legendary item.

Crafting 2.0 is coming and it will be totally different. Take a look at the official announcement/feedback thread.
