Since R155 they messed up large portion of the weapons ... they removed the name "wand" for wands and renamed them "staff". Similar thing happened with ranger's weapons ... i.e. my bow was renamed from "Legendary Sunbone Longbow" to "Totem Longbow"
That wouldn't be much of a problem IF there was no Totem Longbow already in the game and it is level 40 or lower.
I don't know what they were thinking when renaming the wand into staff ... but that is a clearly a unfortunate error or ignorance. Wand is a wand ... Wand is not a Staff.
The name Short Staff or just a Staff for wand and Large Staff for staff is BS. It is not just inaccurate but also misleading and confusing ... not just for the new players but for all in general.
This way we are getting to the point where clearly different types of weapons have a same name.
One example (out of many) can be taken in this screenshot

Same name "Keeper's Royal Staff" for both weapons ... even though they are not of the same type.

Change back the name to Wand for 1H weapons ... and leave the name Staff for 2H weapons.

Not sure this is the right place to add this...but to add to the confusion, depending on the class, sometimes an item leaning lower left to upper right is 1-handed, sometimes it is 2-handed. It would be good if everything that leans one way is always 1-handed and those that lean the other way are 2-handed. When flipping between classes, I sometimes forget which is which and wonder why my block is so bad or my damage so good....

This has been annyoing me for quite a while specifically for 1-hand maces of the DKs. They are really hard to distinguish from 2-h hammers - the only difference is the length of the handle. As a fix would only mean mirroring the images, that should not be such an effort.

I'm with Armando, in most cases it is easy enough to tell the difference, but those hammers/maces need it. Some times if I'm looking quick, the unidentified 1H axe will fool me too, but that isn't nearly as annoying as the hammers.

I agree that there ought to be a little more standardization, both in naming and icon appearance.

I also agree on this one, since I play the game in english, whenever I share weapon screenshots with my guildmates, which are mostly spanish speakers, to discuss over them, the vast majority gets confused about the staff/large staff thing.

Long story short, I'd also like the SW's 1H weapons to be called wands again.

When I reached lvl 50 I've noticed that the icon direction of some 1h weapons are the same of those of 2h and sometimes it gets confusing.
These are small mistakes but they are the most annoying and confusing ones...
And also the naming of items... Both amulets and weapon adornments are named with "seal"... confusion again... Give me a break!
Correcting these doesn't seem that hard...
