You were right about that Christmas gem with the Crit, hp and ice resistance :D
However, I was not using any solstice gems in there, I totally forgot about em..
The 25 extra rage you see is from the 10 points knowledge skill "Berserker rage"

    DOH!
I thought about that skill, I dismissed it as making no sense for you to use it when showing off that build since it would have no effect. Now it makes sense.

so 3x to 4x hp% line amulets give more/better effect when compared to raw HP amulets, if you have higher level amethysts and more Hp lines form the rest of your gear, is that it?

    Think of it this way...
The absolute max you can get in a single HP line on an amulet is 478. If by some convergence of the stars you could get 4 HP lines >475, then you could theoretically get 1900 HP from the amulet. Then, if you raise its level to 55, that would be 2357. Now, like in the case above, this is multiplied by the % HP sources available. Lets go with 75% from knowledge, 5% from HP pet, 5% from a Christmas gem, 4% from the other Christmas gem, and 10% from the Deep Sea Decoration/Sword combo for a total of +99%. That means that a near perfect 4 line legendary could increase your HP by 4690. This may sound like a lot, but this comes out to about 1173 HP per line. To get 1173 HP from a % HP line (say 9.9% and this isn't as crazy as saying >475), you would need a "Base HP" of 11848 (which, if you remember, is your HP before all %s). Now, if you remember my numbers from above, that build has 24825 base HP. In that case, a 9.9% HP line would be worth 2458. Now, if you had a 4 line legendary with 9.9% each, you'd be getting about 9830 HP from that amulet.

    Conclusion:
    9830>4690
Therefor, if you are going for an godlike amount of HP, a % HP amulet will almost always win. If you need HP, but you don't have a lot of gems or other gear with HP, then you will likely get more HP from a +HP amulet.

Think of it like damage. If you have a 1h build with low damage, then + damage will help you more, but when you get into huge 2H weapons, the % damage will have a much bigger impact and the gains from + damage become laughable.

ok I can understand the effect of the HP % amulet clearly now, but about the +dmg lines in 1handed weapons I'm bit indifferent (if that's what you meant), Ive tried calcing dps using the simulator here -> http://dsocalc.musichere.net/ , and the weapon dps values are higher for the 3x iwd and 1x dmg line case, provided one has royal rubies i.e... but for rubies at radiant and flawless 2x iwd 2x dmg should be better.

so it all comes down to gem quality at the end of the day I guess mainly, and gear line quality as well..

    There's a difference between %wep damage and %damage.
When you have a 1h build you usually have less damage than with a 2h build, so you want to keep the +xx damage on your equip (not on your weapon) more than the +xx% damage on your equip.
for example with 1000 base dmg (with knowledge points on Attack), +100 dmg will be more effective than +10% dmg.

sources of +dmg from gear include belt, amulet, rings gloves, boots , adorn and set bonus.. and if you have points set in speed only, then you're probably going to be tanking mainly I suppose? Otherwise I see no reason.. if that's the case then why would you want to get +dmg from gear? why not just get defense stats instead..

in any case source of % dmg from gears is only from torso, unique adornment from defenders set and set bonuses as far as DKs is concerned, isn't it?.. I'm pretty sure a dmg torso with even 2x % dmg lines will give much more dmg easily than a 4x +dmg torso with yellow lines even, immaterial of whether or not uve points in dmg.The set bonus cant be factored into debate since they're fixed and cant be changed to suit different conditions. so I guess finally your argument comes down to whether to use the % dmg adornment or the +dmg adornment to suit different wisdom settings and environments ?

the adorn only works if you've damage accumulation from the rest of your gears like high iwd weapon with rubies and +dmg from ur gears, without it it's useless to invest points in damage section of wisdom.. cause it won't be applied on any damage value.. hence you're better of using a raw + dmg adorn (in the case of 1 handed weapon usage), is that your point?

    Hi there,
I thank you for your interest to join our guild.
    Two things though:
This is not the right forum thread for any guild inquiries, let's not litter here.
Secondly, we are a level 50 guild and PvP inclined. I am happy to assist with an advice and other help where possible, but you would have to reach end-game level.

    Cheers

I forgot a detail that I wanted to include with this post... The full HP amulet was worth 4690, but that was after you spend 18 million glyphs. On the other hand, the advantage of the full % HP amulet is that you'd get the huge amount of HP without spending a single glyph, and you never would. It's planning like that that makes a huge difference in your end build. For example, I only need to upgrade the items in my offensive build: my weapon for improved damage and crit, my full crit decoration for crit, and my full crit belt for more crit. All other offensive stats are % based (30% 2H damage from the Black Warlord set, 24% damage from torso, 50% crit from 2 Bloodtooths, 4% crit from the Christmas gems, etc.). This allows me to spend my glyphs more efficiently.

Due to the R169 bug killing off Q3 farming, I decided to take a look at PvP, namely 1v1, to see how the balance measures for mechs looked. I must say, I'm pleased. The only mech that won against me was a serious cash player with tons of skill to go with it, and he won with no running in circles while healing. But that isn't the point of a thread like this, so I wanted to show you guys the stats that I was using when I went into the arena. This screenshot is taken right before a duel, so it takes into account the 18% damage I get from my PvP tree.

Put simply, people were not happy with me. I was beating field marshals and even a grand marshal without even trying hard as only a Knight of the Order. I can't tell you how many times I got called "cash," but at least none of them could accuse me of using essence. :p

Now, if I were cash, all my gems would be at least sacred, and I'd likely have a couple more % armor stones... If I had to guess, a cash version of my toon would have another 366 HP (7 Flawless upgraded to sacred +50%), another 588 resist (16 Flawless upgraded to sacred +5%), and another 113 armor (one +20% armor gem upgraded to a +30%). And this is just accounting for small improvements that cash would give me... going to full royal would make this toon even more insane. Also, now that I've reached 54/54/55 for my weapon/belt/decoration, I can finally spend some glyphs to improve my defensive stats. For example, in another million glyphs, I'll gain 25 armor and 79 HP. In time, I see the PvP build reaching 17k HP, 5.8k armor, and 2500 resist. Then they'll really have something to complain about. :D

    I've some questions...
How did you feel with 1.19 att speed while not using charge or jump?, is it confy?
And ... were you running keen set with this setup? Cause i think a 50% of crit hit should be awesome

  17. _Baragain_

    _Baragain_ Living Forum Legend

1.19 is a little slow and I feel it when I'm trying to land a swing or a smash against a runner, but since much of my strategy involves jump, charge, and spin, it works enough for the most part.

Regarding Keens, I'm using the belt/gloves. I have yet to find a pair of gloves that, when paired with a belt, have 1740 HP and 838 armor. It could be done with two items with a line of 367 armor and 3 lines 300 HP each, but I haven't been looking for belts and gloves like that. Then there would be the matter is adding slots because they probably would come with three or less and I don't feel like spending the ander on something like that.

My 5v5 stats at the moment :) I'm still hoping to get a better version of that shield for a full 80% block, but for now this one does well :D and my run speed is right about 70%.

Here ya go :) i got ones with 30% speed and i'm trying to craft ones with over 35% speed, but for now this is what i'm using.

so it's the speed from the boots and gems + 5% from the dragan cloak and 25% speed from the knowledge tree. Which all adds up to 70% speed :)
