    Hey there,

So, after seeing the last live stream, I must say I am really disappointed. For me, the main goal of playing this game is slowly fading away.
I farm for better equipment, for better set-ups having PVP in mind. When farmed gear will not make it into PVP arenas anymore, the purpose of farming is out of scope for me. There are far better games out there if you only care for farming.
And then we will have the new PVP. 5v5 only? With pre assumed roles beginning of each arena? Is this MOBA? Well, I don't have to say it, everybody knows that DSO will never compete with what is the marketing offering in this particular genre. And do no be worried, PVP in MOBA's is also broken. Why? Because matchmaking is based there on PVP ranking and/or Summoner(hero) lvl. And there we have the so called "smurfs" stepping in, and there is nothing you can do about those.

I think that removing wisdom from PVP arenas, is enough for the moment. We will have to see if gear has to be readjusted after R208. We will have to play than, for a while, in PVP arenas to see how things are going. Maybe after that some new skills/ talents, more PVP oriented can be developed.
But as I see it now, the game purpose was - farm/invest - go to PVP, get your ass kicked - farm more/invest more - get your ass kicked again; when you reach a high-end point, game refreshes - lvl increase, new gear added, new gems/runes etc and the cycle restarts.
When your farm has no more impact in PVP, the game dies. At least the farm side. Maybe some players will enjoy farming and chatting with friends while farming. Maybe some players will enjoy the "MOBA" PVP part. But not me; as long as there are games which are top of their class in terms of farming or PVP, I will simply move on.

Indeed, our feedback truly doesn't seem to matter. I will just bring last 2 points, proposed by BP also in the past and rejected by players: destroyable dwarf turrets - now this is again brought up and much closer to being implemented; and PVE gear out of PVP arenas - now this is again brought up and much closer to being implemented.

Maybe I got it all wrong from live stream; we will have to see.

    Have a nice day!

The latest news about gearless arena concept must concern us now. Even if developers didnt bring it to test servers yet, just thinking for a such solution for balancing pvp is just a joke for me.

Ok imagine if this happen , why we have to play now ? for killing just brainless mobs ? go play better darksouls then or another single player game.

This solution will just make useless all the pve game :

    - All sets ( Dragan , Karabossa , Parallel worlds , Gnob , Emilia and so on .. ) = useless
    - All events = useless
    - All gems = useless
    - All runes = useless
    - All glyphs = useless
    - All matery frags = useless
    - All dracens = useless
    - All gold = useless
    - All clovers = useless

    - All ANDERS = useless

Yes this realy concerns me much. :(

It somehow took my Motivation to Play PvE at all. I just Play PvE to get Stronger to be competitive to other Players, as PvE has no real goal at all.
It is ridicolous to Play the same Maps over and over again, just to get stronger to Play the same maps with same content in higher modes.
Right Now there was a Sense in doing that, as it was like the monotonous training necessary for the Competition.
With the announced way of Change it becomes like emmaaxxx said Kind of useless/senseless.

In German Forum Players that were discussing pvp builds closed their threads and ingame effords of achiving this Stuff, as it becomes obsolete and right Now seems like a Waste of Time.

For me as a Player that likes my character i Build up for several years with all that resets BP brought Into Game at former levelups and who likes playing PvP, that Plans realy ruined my day.

    :(

    Hi
I really hope to had a bad comprehension of what is going to happen TO PVP SIDE, particularly on PVP GEAR.
If really PVE GEAR wont be used anymore ON PVP this game will have totally 0 sense to exist. no one will ever EVER play PVE just to improve on PVE to do again and again and again SAME boring maps, same mobs, same bosses for what reason?? if i CANT USE my improvements on PVP?? is this a joke??
Everyone is playing to IMPROVE his SET to be more competitive on PVP. if u cut down this side game is GONE. literally.
Just think about GEMS CRAFTS SETS GOLD LINES. ALL useless. so why i have to play a game when a new lvl 55 its SAME as me on PVP? really this it's the WORST idea i ever heard by BP and they are particularly good on thinking about NOSENSE content but seems that they can even improve on negative sides.

if you KILL PVP you KILL all game. its easy to understand so i hope that AT LEAST THIS TIME they will respect our FEEDBACKS or be prepared to losing more than half of players cause lets say. here 90% of people play for PVP. no one care about PVE. you can find far better games than this based on PVE SIDE.

NO KNOWLEDGE ON PVP its fair
NO PVE GEAR ON PVP its madness.

take a step at time. REMOVE knowledge and then balance skills/talents not our effort to improve our sets.
just my and whole community 2 cent.

I guess I am no one. I only play pvp when I have a clover and pretty much everyone in my guild thinks the same. Separating the 2 and no longer having pvp as part of daily quests is awesome.

Guess i am no one as well because i never play pvp, really don't enjoy it, and i love the idea that pvp and pve will be seperated more and no more daily pvp for clovers would be awesome.

And in response to the idea that no one enjoys doing the same maps over and over, well, i actually do enjoy doing the maps again and again to see myself get stronger and gain the ability to do higher levels and craft better gear and what i would love to see the most more than anything would be some more new pve areas to explore.

I won't rage so much about gearless PvP as of now. We have not really much infos, also they are working on PvP "balance" too, so I'd expect them to come togheter.

Personally, I'm that kind of player who preferes Skills over Stats.. this will shows that you are good vs another player, not the amount of time and money you put in your character. And also this is the same reason I chose to go nearly always meelee on a game (who got EDITed some days ago) full of campers:D

If you dont care about PVP, why do you want it to be removed then? They already said they would remove the daily PVP quest, so you can get your clovers without the PVP, but taking away the PVE gear is just a punch in the face for a lot of players that crafted items only for PVP.

What if they took away your PVE build? would you like that? i dont think so...

No reason to play this game if they do this to pvp. I play pve only to get stronger on pvp. PvP is the only reason I play pve...

I agree with all of you guys.

The only reason I do PvE is to get stronger in PvP.
If we cannot use PvE gears in PvP, then I have no sense to play this game.
That would be the end of my DrakenSang journey.
Gearless PvP sounds like MOBA to me and why do I play DrakenSang instead of a popular MOBA game?
The only reason why I play DrakenSang is that You can get stronger over time, and do better in PvP as you get stronger.
If it just the same every day and any day, then it is just another MOBA and not a very attractive one.
When and if that happens, nothing will stop me saying good bye to DrakenSang.

Especially when top rated MOBAs have dozens, of playable characters/classes, deep strategy, and a level of balance that BugPoint could only dream of approaching.

I still need to carefully listen the stream but if it's correct what it's said I'd say it's a good step in the right direction (it is also something I had largerly predicted).
This choise will let the PvP oriented players to only focus on PvP while the PvE oriented ones will stay focused on PvE only.
It has the potential to gretly increase the PvP players base as noone will need to spend hours/years before getting competitive at any decent level nor will suffer the frustration of not having legacy gear.
It will make a lot easier to make fast changements for the balancement because there won't be the problem to handle the complaints about "suddent" nerfs and will let the chance to implement a lot faster new PvP modes and new PvE contents without having the problem that they interfer each other.
The only thing I would do is to ADD this new "official" PvP mod on top of the actual "wild" PvP mode.
The "official" one will slowly take the edge over the "wild" one (as it has happened in every game I've seen there were both) and I'm quite confident this will be the path DSO team will follow (I've seen the streaming yet but I'd bet my 2 cents it is what they already said).
You're not alone and, for me, drakens, andermants, gems and crafts will still do exactly what they are doin right now, on the other side I would be glad if they make harder PvE contents to challenge.

    Hi all,

In my opinion the introduction of a new store with pvp items only, buyable with ander / pvp points will increase player competiveness. My suggestion would be that the items from that shop will getting better and better depending on the player's rank,
in this way both time and money invested by pvp enthusiasts so far will be rewarded with dedicated items in this new store, and new players will have the opportunity over time, or investing ander to reach very good items for pvp competitions., a new tree of honor will have to bring fair benefits for both pvp veterans and new players.

I think we should be open to changes so the pvp arena will becomes more challenging for everyone not just for passionate pvp players.

..sorry if my english is bad, I just got out of work and I'm extremely tired.

Funniest thing ever ... Those who "don't care about PvP at all" are the first to welcome these "new changes" that will never happen.
Why? Because they are bunch of liars :D
They sucked ... they suck ... and they will always suck at PvP. Deal with it!
Even if you have equipment 6 tiers higher than the others ... you will lose again ... simply because you suck!

Aye ... we know you. You are the world champion in e-sports in category "no one gives a flying rat's arse".
    It ain't gonna happen :)

I can suppose that there are four types of players here :

The casual players , are players that have few average hours of gameplay and log in random days and times occasionally (when they have time to play or willing to spend some time for the game cause they may didnt find anything else to do in their real life).

The pve players , are players that emphasize on mobs - boss runs - quests - costumes - pets - mounts and may spend a lot of hours for the game.

    The pvp players ,
are players that emphasize on class skills - ideal keyboard movement - strategy and tactic in battle with other players. They may play a lot of hours just doing pvp, most of it just playing on low lvls cause they are lazy to farm and develop a better gear.

The hardcore players , are players that emphasize on everything (ok maybe not all for costumes :)) and sure play a lot of hours in order to become the very best. They are insane competitive players and want always to be on the top. Most of them are perfectionist too.

(the colors mean the frequency u meet these type of players like the items in this game )

So, removing gear effort from pvp will just make happy casual players, will make extremely happy pvp players, will leave unconcerned the pve players and make hardcore players quit the game.

So, just putting this data down , the developers can say " ok we will lose only an 1-5% of the total population and make happy all the others".

Well , i have to say that this 1-5% of population give life and breathe to this game and sometimes in general an 1-5% of population can change the world, ignoring them and marginalizing them is inappropriate.

There is a hight part of your "pvp players" that won't be happy to lose all the good things they farmed so hard... that's not only 5%. And you should think that 75% of players don't come on forums to give their opinions. And the 25% who are speaking here, how many % are the guys just destroyed in pvp who rage quit and logg on here to complain without reasonnable solution? BP is just lazzy to fix the old items, stat. They prefer a solution where the old players just leave it. Sad. (sry for my english)

    :D:D

let's hope so, but if we look at the past, bp has always chosen the easiest way. and in this case the separation of pve and pvp. would also be in view of the long waiting times in pvp they would have a very simple solution. another problem that i see is also that too few pvp players are active in the forum, no matter in which language. they only become active when it is almost too late xD. this gives the impression that we are only 5%, which does not correspond to reality

As @ZantezukKken pointed out there are many players that don't participate to discussions in the forum. If the developers care to get feedback from all sources I invite them to have a look at an ongoing dicussion about that topic in the largest dso fb group "dso-world". I'm sure some of the dso devs are in that group already. If not - jesse or any dev, feel free to pm me (ron wigger) or any other group admin to get invited.

The very fact that they announced a change in PVP was enough to make me happy.

I love PVP and may have been the first to say I was excited about the announcement.

The Truth is it's been a long time coming and imo PVP is long overdue for an overhaul.

They did mention something about still being able to PVP with gear in arenas. not sure exactly (the language was a little stetchy :)) if they meant the existing arenas or not. They did however imply that nothing was set in stone.

It's funny how corrosive this community gets right away... Name calling, threatening to quit, arguing that other peoples opinions don't matter...

In the 6 years playing... this much has been true:

    • Every piece of gear becomes obsolete eventually
    • Every character takes their turn on the nerfing block
    • Every change made to PVP has made it less team-oriented

PVP is the reason I started playing this game in the first place. So any announcement that they are going to make an effort to improve
on it is the BEST news in a long time.
